jump ...

29 September 2014

Hello there! It's already Autumn, it seems like this year is flying by!

Today I am here with a scrapbook layout from our holiday in July to the south of France. Already two months ago and I am longing for some sunshine! I used my recent Studio Calico's Poet Society scrapbook kit for this layout and it came together very quickly. Beautiful co-ordinating products in my kits :)

The photo was taken the first morning of really good weather on holiday. The first few days were a bit windy and the sea a little choppy. But the children were delighted to find gentle waves lapping the shore and boats back in the bay. I crept up behind them and captured them jumping the waves!

Here is a detailed shot showing the dimension ~

Thanks for looking and have a great day.x

Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop

25 September 2014

Hi there, today I am joining with the Papertrey Ink's September Blog Hop.

I based my card around the colours in the first recipe and used the last sketch as inspiration. Here is my card ~

I used an image from the Fancy That stamp collection and heat embossed it on watercolour paper and then added the colours from the recipe. The sentiment is heat embossed in silver on vellum and is from the Ballerina Beauty stamp set.

Thanks for looking and remember to add a comment so I can hop along to your blogs and give your creations some love too.x

MakeItMonday | Paper Weaving

16 September 2014

Today I am joining in with Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday #180 which challenges us to make projects using the Paper Weaving technique demonstrated by Ashley Cannon Newell. This was a lot of fun!

Here is my card ~

I used my PTI Monthly Moments August 2014 journal card collection to select some pretty papers and then weaved them as taught. On top of this I added a white die cut which I popped some of the pieces back in to highlight the sentiments. I also added a die cut word and adhered the panel on to a kraft card stock base.

Thanks for looking and remember to leave a comment so I can visit your projects and show them some love too.x

Supplies used ~

Stamps & Dies - PTI County Fair MakeItMarket kit
Paper & Cardstock - PTI Monthly Moments August 2014, PTI Stampers Select White card stock, PTI Raspberry Fizz card stock, Neenah Dessert Stor
Ink - My Favorite Things Black Licorice

Make the Day Special September challenge

5 September 2014

I'm back again with an entry for the September challenge at Make the Day Special stamp store.

This month's challenge is a sketch and here is my entry ~

I used the Mama Elephant stamp set Around We Go over a panel with blended Distress Inks. I embossed the clouds and the sentiment on a transparency.

project life 2014 | weeks 31 & 32

3 September 2014

As promised I'm here today with two more weeks of my project life (ETA - see bottom of post for reasons why this will be my last detailed project life share).

We got back from holiday and were grateful for to the grandparents for house and pet/animal sitting whilst we were away. It gives peace of mind to know that the cats are happy and the house in clean and safe whilst we are having lots of fun in the sun! This week our kitten Lea ventured outside for the first time, which was very exciting for her and stressful for me! We got a new cooker also and were grateful to our neighbour and friend for helping remove the old beast from the kitchen! I completed a couple of mini albums this week about our vacation, you can find these posts here and here on my blog. The weather was a bit hit and miss this week. We are getting one hot day and then a couple of days of mist and rain :(

Week 32 saw the departure of the grandparents and Noah & Molly visited a waterpark near Lyon with their summer atelier. Zachary and me went for a 22km bike ride along the Rhone using the Via Rhona cycle path. I'm loving my road bike, makes hills so much easier!

NB - I have decided that this will be my last project life blog post in any details. There are certain details of my life that I wish to keep private, I am sure you all understand the reasons for that. I will, however, return with ad-hoc project life posts relating to events like holidays and Christmas. Thanks for your understanding.x

project life 2014 | weeks 29 & 30

2 September 2014

Today the children go back to school after the long summer break of 8 weeks. We've had lots of fun but not lots of sun but have still managed to tick off those wishes from the bucket list!

So here are my project life weeks 29 and 30 - couldn't be simpler - I have two photos to represent these weeks. The first week we were really busy with the grandparents visiting and photos did not take a priority but I did steal this one of Molly and Grandma reading in the garden.

Week 30 we were on holiday and this week is covered by a couple of mini albums so I chose my favourite photo of Noah jumping on the beach and used that in my Style A pockets.

Here are the pages ~

And week 29 ~

I'll be back tomorrow with weeks 31 and 32. Today has been a little hectic! Thanks for reading and have a great day.x

just a note ...

1 September 2014

Today I am joining in with Papertrey's Ink September 2014 Inspiration Archive. I have created a card using the Color Play combo as detailed. Here is my card ~

I had to cheat a little in the colour combo because I don't have PTI's Spring Moss, so I substituted it with Limeade Ice :)

First I stamped a medallion pattern from Fancy That in Versamark ink and then embossed it using Clear embossing powder. Then I blended in the inks per the Colour Combo with my Ranger mini ink blender tool. Finally I added a sentiment from Fancy That on vellum and heat embossed it in Rangers Liquid Platinum.

I hope you liked my card and if you are playing along to please leave me a comment so I can visit your blog and check your cards out too. Have a great day.x
