{12-18 May 2013 | week 20}

22 May 2013

This is our first real week of {project life}

Our pages this week detail the school trip to Chanaz.  Our children are lucky to attend a small village school that is the grouping of three local communes.  The children start around the age of three in France and enter into the {maternelle}.  This is equivalent to Nursery or Kindergarten. Between the ages of 3 and 6 years they go to a school in our commune of Brénaz.  Currently there are 19 children, including Molly and Noah, being taught here.

Although the school year starts in September, the children are grouped in classes according to their age in a {calendar} year, and this differs from my experience with the educational system in England.  Molly was born in November 2007 and her best friend Noemie was born in July 2008.  Under the English system both girls would be in the same class.  However in France Molly is the {grande sectionne} of the Maternelle and Noemie in the {moyenne sectionne}.  Between the ages of 7 and 11 the children go to a school in the neighbouring commune of Virieu le Petit.  Currently there are 15 children, including Zachary at this school.

Thirty school children went on the trip to Chanaz.  As Zachary is Type 1 diabetic I accompany him on all school outings.  So I was able to visit Chanaz too !  The pages are pretty self-explanatory as to what we did there.  Unfortunately it rained most of the day, but that didn't dampen our fun !  We also took part in a pottery workshop and I will include those details in a future week when our lamps are finished.

This week again I have used photo pockets A and cards from core kits of Seafoam and Clementine.  I also discovered a kit from {We R Memory Keepers} called Tangerine which I can mix in with these kits.  I have also used some fillers from the Snap! kit.

Again I used a freebie journal card from September Blue and discovered more awesome free journal cards from valoriebrown designs.  Last but not least, the gorgeous Laura Kate {who I have had the privilege to meet in real life due to our mutual love of Blythe} has provided the weekly calendar cards that I plan to use this year.  You should visit her blog, {laurakateiscrafty} for these and more freebies!

Here are the pages in detail ~
